¡Hola Hola! I am Dr. Marcela Rodriguez-Campo, I am an educator in Las Vegas, NV. I am a proud Colombiana who explores the intersections of resilience, immigration, healing, and education. My research focuses on understanding the impacts of family separation on Latinx education through testimonio in order to understand how to create more supportive and inclusive classroom cultures.
I completed my Ph.D. in the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. When I am not teaching, I enjoy collaborating with students, community leaders, local businesses, and organizations to support them in aligning their philosophies with social justice oriented practices. I offer a critical lens for creating an authentic and empowering culture that enables the engagement of a diverse audience.
Currently, I serve as the Director of the Office for Community, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Nevada State College. I am a poet, writer, scholar, and critical tía. I have had the honor of presenting my work at national and internationally recognized conferences. I work as a teacher-educator who uses feminist and anti-racist frameworks to enable teachers and leaders to develop liberatory and empowering cultures.
Let's create something beautiful together, let's cultivate change, let's make things happen!
